EARN MONEY WITH GOATS

I love goats. Goats are adorable and funny… but maybe that’s not the best intro for this article. Because this article will be about how to make money by raising goats. But only one item talks about producing goat meat. The rest involves making goat cheese, and using goats as living lawnmowers.

If you own a farm or have a large patch of grassland, goat farming may have crossed your mind. Hopefully, this article will convince you to finally give goat farming a try. But before I start my list, let’s discuss goat quality.

Quality is Essential

You can’t pick up a few random goats and expect them to be profitable. As with all livestock, quality is important. I recommend buying goats from reputable breeders. I also suggest checking out the websites of the American Goat Society and the International Goat, Sheep, Camelid Registry before buying.

Quality goats mean they were raised in humane conditions by knowledgeable breeders. It also means that their breed is legit.

With that out of the way, here are some ways to make money off your goats:

1. Sell the offspring

Selling kids (goats less than a year old) is one of the more profitable things you can do with your goats. Kids can be sold for hundreds of dollars, especially show-quality ones, or ones that come from a line of great milk providers.

If you go this route, I would recommend getting certified as well. You can then use your certification to distinguish your business and your goats.

2. Sell goat’s milk

A good quality dairy goat can produce up to a gallon of milk a day. You will also have to be knowledgeable about local regulations pertaining to producing and selling goat’s milk. While goat’s milk is delicious (and makes for great cheese), some states ban the sale of goat’s milk for human consumption (bummer). I recommend checking with your Food and Drug Administration (FDA) office.

The good news is there’s a demand for goat’s milk for animal consumption, such as dogs. So expect to sell a lot of it to dog breeders and pet owners.

Here are the breeds that are great milk-producers. I suggest sticking to these:

Saanen

Alpine

Nubians

Toggenburgs

Oberhaslis

Guernsey

Nigerians

La Manchas

3. Sell Goat Meat

Goat meat is a delicacy, and there’s a high demand for it in ethnic cuisine. When demand is high, so will the prices. So take advantage of this and look into selling goat meat. Around Easter and Christmas is when demand spikes. Buyers normally do the rounds of goat farms around those times. Usually, Boer goats, which are known for producing high-quality meat, fetch the highest prices.

Boer goats are one of the best breeds for meat, but you can also raise the following breeds:

Kiko

Tennessee Meat Goat

Genemaster

Texmaster

Savanna

Spanish

4. Turn Them into Living Lawnmowers!

If you haven’t noticed yet, Goats will eat everything (and anything!) in their path. So it’s not surprising that companies, such as WeRentGoats, rent out goats for the purpose of clearing vegetation. The state government of California is a frequent employer of goat lawnmowers. Goats provide a valuable service: they clear brushy areas, preventing wildfires in the process.

If this is something you’d like to do, you’ll need around 50 heads of goats. You’ll also need several sheep dogs to keep your stubborn goats in line!

Since the goats won’t be used for their milk or meat, any breed will do.

The Verdict

Raising goats is a fun, legit way to earn money! Just remember to buy goats from reputable breeders, and treat your herd humanely. If you put in the time to raise high-quality goats, the payoff can be immense!

Your Turn

This is how I made money of my goats. Now it’s your turn to share. How do you earn from your goats? Got any tips or secrets to share?

INCREASE SWAGBUCKS EARNING

Swagbucks Earned - Money Spent = Profit

Before I dive into the details, let me explain what Swagbucks is. Swagbucks is a search engine, survey site, coupon site, offerwall provider, cash back system, and more all in one. Basically they are the ultimate rewards program. People can make pretty good money from them, especially from my favorite two aspects:

1. Swagbucks cash back. 2-10% on literally every major online store including Amazon , Ebay , Walmart and all the travel sites.

2. The search engine. Earn 6-100 cents worth of Swagbucks randomly while searching.

Both are great programs because they're low-effort.

A higher effort way to make quite a bit of Swagbucks is to look at their current high-paying offers. These offers are often things like "subscribe to x service" or "buy x product".

Well the hilarious thing is that often Swagbucks will reward you MORE than what you are required to pay to that business. Now, that sounds absolutely silly, but they do it because they know less-motivated people will buy the product and forget to unsubscribe. For instance, if they join Hulu and get $28 worth of Swagbucks, they may stay subscribed for over 3 months and therefore Hulu will make a profit.

However, if you find the minimum time you're allowed to unsubscribe and still receive the Swagbucks reward, you can earn money from such an offer!

Swagbucks Story Time From 2015

First of all, yes I've been using Swagbucks since 2015. Second, this method I'm talking about had merit back then and still has merit today.

Back in 2015 I noticed an offer for a console called "FlarePlay". It was a super cheap little gaming console from Disney that streamed games from their servers onto your screen, rather than you running the game yourself. This was an early prototype for popular systems today, like Google Stadia.

Anyway, the offer was to give me 2,480 Swagbucks (about $24.80 worth). The first month was $9.99, and you were only required to pay for the first month. So I paid $9.99 for the console, got it shipped in the mail, and then I cancelled my service at the end of the month.

I walked away with $15 in profit from this little thing, and had some fun with the console (though it was insanely laggy).

These types of offers are still available on Swagbucks!

The Hulu thing I mentioned earlier was pretty much a real thing. Just make sure you check the rules of each offer to see how long you're required to stay subscribed, then do the math to see if it is a profitable decision.

Let me know in this thread if you've claimed any profitable offers like this! I'll continue to post in this thread when I find new ways to profit from these Swagbucks offers, so be sure to enable email notifications.

Paid to take Survey

 CashCrate

Why I would’ve liked it as a college dude:

There are several things I like about CashCrate now, which I think I would have blown a gasket over when I was a college dude. One is that it’s easy to sign up and be part of the community, and you can start taking surveys and signing up for offers straight away. Another is that it pays in cash, which is extra-useful for broke college students like I was back then. There are also referral and affiliate programs in place for some extra earnings – my daughter has a blog which she can readily monetize should she choose to, and she can easily influence her friends to sign up so she can earn from the referrals.

But the best reason this site checks out for me is that I believe an appropriate online survey for students should involve a community that is supportive and encouraging to other members. CashCrate meets this requirement, not just for college-age users, but for yours truly, as well.

SwagBucks

Why I would’ve liked it as a college dude:

There is a good reason why SwagBucks almost always makes it to my list of best sites – whether it’s under the ones that pay in cash, are appropriate for teens, or have apps you can use when you’re on the go. It just works – plain and simple.

If I had the kind of technology we have now back when I was in college, I honestly think I would have made a decent amount of money waiting in line for class registration, at the student canteen, and other queues that are part and parcel of being an undergrad. SwagBucks tasks are doable via mobile devices and if I’m getting a bit burnt out doing surveys, I can always rely on other activities to earn from, such as watching videos and playing games while on my feet.

GrabPoints

Why I would’ve liked it as a college dude:

GrabPoints is so generous with the kind of time and effort you exert on their tasks that I was truly blown away by just how much you can earn with them hourly and monthly. I made these charts previously to illustrate just how much – we’re talking over a $225 monthly earning for those like me who put in an average of 40 hours a month on the site’s tasks. Even half that amount is already a great boost for a college student’s allowance!

And they pay fast – one of the speediest to cash out via PayPal, based on my experience. There was even a time when I got my money in my account barely 24 hours after I redeemed my earnings!

PointsPrizes

Why I would’ve liked it as a college dude:

College is the best time to be an influencer, if we are to observe the boatload of Instagram and other social media stars who dedicate a substantial chunk of their lives blogging, vlogging, and generally being visible to their audiences all the time while doing ordinary things. If I had that much influence in my pinky finger, I honestly think I would have used it for the referral program via PointsPrizes, which allows me to get 10% of my referred friends’ earnings! I’m basic like that, so sue me!

The site also places special emphasis on having a safe and secure system in place. They seem to be big on user privacy, which appeals to me and my daughter. And aside from cold hard cash via PayPal, the gift card menu on PointsPrizes is pretty attractive to college-age kids: Netflix, iTunes, Steam, Amazon , and other fashion, gaming, and food-centric GCs means dad won’t have to pony up for these little luxuries – not when daughter dearest can earn them herself!

SurveySavvy

Why I would’ve liked it as a college dude:

A good college student survey site usually means there is a mobile app version of it for busy kids who are rushing from one class to another. It should have a referral system to add up to the passive income earning, as well. A low minimum payout is also welcome because it means money on hand when an emergency arises. Fortunately, SurveySavvy meets all these requirements, and then some. It already makes it to my list of best-paid surveys for teens because of all the reasons I’ve mentioned, plus the fact that the survey topics are age-appropriate.
